Project 3 Peer Review
in class: November 12, 2009
First, we will listen to concerns/issues the group wants you to pay attention to. Second, you will individually spend 20-30 minutes going through the site and jotting down your answers (preferably in word or textedit) to the following questions:
- Imagine you are a new DTC Faculty member about to move to Pullman. You google "Pullman" and the CHA website shows up. Explore the site with this user in mind, and describe, briefly, what this user would think of Pullman and of College Hill based on the site form and content.
- Now, pretend you are a student looking to volunteer for CHA. Try finding the information you need. Now, describe how easy or hard this experience was. Would you be likely to return to this site for information or were you frustrated in some way?
- As best you can, imagine you are a 70something College Hill resident. You heard a new website launched and you want to see what it looks like. You also want to see if there are any upcoming events you might be interested in. Explore the site with this user in mind, and describe first, what this website made you feel about your neighborhood, and second whether or not you were able to find the information you were looking for.
- You are a new history graduate student who recently heard about the College Hill Historic District. You google it and end up at this site. Are you able to find out what and where the district is? Do you wish you could learn more? If so, what?
- Finally, you are you. Describe what you thought of this webiste in terms of 1) aesthetics and 2) usability. Be specific and describe both your likes and dislikes (pay attention to colors, images, link structure and names, general navigability, overall impressions of CHA, etc).
Once you're finished, we will all regroup and talk about the 2 sites AND you will send your feedback to the group leader, so make sure your answers are easily retrievable.
